What a whirlwind. From finding out The Wellington Folk would no longer be continuing in it's current form, to the decision to record a solo project, to the launch of S.K. Wellington, it's been a crazy ride. The whole speculator spectrum of emotions - grieving for the old, excitement for the new. These first few songs that you're going to hear from the project came from a beautiful season of rest, discovery, re-setting, and play - before all of the changes. I took three months off of my day job to travel to Salt Spring Island to retreat and write. I had never had so much time off since the first couple high school summers. It was incredible. Inspiring and challenging; reflective and revealing. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to spend that kind of time away from "normal" life. Now I am well back into the normal pace - but I truly believe this project will also be my best reminder. Thanks for following the journey. I hope to post many more blogs!
